Mr. Shehab M. Gargash

Founder & Chairman

Mr. Shehab M. Gargash is a Board member of the Coutts & Co. Middle East Advisory Board, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the UAE-UK Business Council. He is the managing director and group CEO of the Gargash Group. Along his successful journey, Mr. Gargash enjoyed a successful 12-year banking career in the UAE, initially with Citibank and later with Emirates Bank International (now Emirates NBD). He also served as a director on several regional boards. He was a board member of the Commercial Bank of Dubai in the UAE (2011–2018) and also served as a board member of Burj Bank in Pakistan (2006–2016).

Mr. Gragash has been the Founding Chairman of Daman, a non-banking financial services company based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, since 1998.

Mr. Gargash is a frequent public speaker and a commentator on regional socio-economic issues and trends. He wrote a popular daily column in the UAE’s Al Ittihad newspaper from 1997 to 2008. As an enthusiastic art collector, Mr. Gargash has established the Daman Middle East Art Fund, which invests in Middle Eastern contemporary art and supports regional artists.

Mr. Ahmed Waheed

Mr. Ahmed Waheed is an expert business executive with over 15 years of expertise in financial markets and equity brokerage. He has considerable experience covering various products in the Mena and GCC regions. Ahmad brings to Daman his experience in establishing new business lines and diversifying revenue sources through various asset classes. Before joining Daman, Ahmed was Head of Institutional Coverage at Menacorp, where he originated, developed, and executed new product lines, including starting Menacorp's business in the Saudi Arabia market.

Ahmed began his career at Menacorp as the VP of its Institutional Trading Deak in Dubai. Before joining Menacorp, Ahmed had significant positions with prominent Mena brokerage firms, including Raddah Investment, Naeem Holding, CI Capital, and Dynamic Securities Trading.

Ahmed holds an MBA from Hult International Business School in Dubai and a BA in Economics from Cairo University. Ahmed has CISI certification.
