The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) formerly (Abu Dhabi Securities Market) was established on 15th November 2000 under the Local Law No. (3) of 2000, the provisions of which vest the Market with a legal entity of autonomous status, independent finance and management, and give ADX the necessary supervisory and executive powers to exercise its functions.
Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) aims to be an innovative, attractive, and transparent marketplace empowering the UAE’s economy by providing opportunities to invest savings and funds in securities, ensuring the soundness and accuracy of transactions and the interaction between demand and supply in order to determine prices, and protecting investors through fair and proper dealing principles between various investors. ADX develops investment awareness by conducting research to ensure that savings are invested in productive sectors. It supports financial and economic stability and develops trading methods in order to enhance the liquidity and stability of prices of all securities listed on the market.
ADX has the authority to establish centers and branches outside the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. To date it has done so in Fujairah, Ras al Khaimah, Sharjah and Zayed City.
